Printing on Wood

We print directly onto wood panels to create signage, decorative elements and POS display materials with a natural finish. The wood grain remains visible in areas where the ink does not cover the substrate, adding a texture and depth that cannot be achieved by printing on paper and applying it afterwards.

The print can cover the entire surface or combine printed areas with exposed wood, depending on the design and desired effect. It is particularly suitable for commercial interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, exhibitions and spaces where the material itself forms part of the visual identity.

Applications of printing on wood

Direct printing allows the wood itself to remain visible as part of the design. We can cover the board completely or leave areas unprinted so that the grain and natural colour become part of the graphic.

Premium and sustainable POS displays: We also produce displays, display stands, product bases and promotional elements for point-of-sale campaigns. It is a suitable solution when a natural aesthetic is required, particularly for brands associated with food, cosmetics, crafts or sustainability.

This finish works particularly well in hospitality and catering projects, where signage and decoration need to integrate with the interior design of the space.

Interior decoration: Wood can be used to reproduce illustrations, photographs, brand messages and graphic elements integrated into walls, furniture or reception areas. Its texture provides a warmer finish than conventional plastic substrates.

Indoor signage: We manufacture plaques, directories, identification signs, information panels and decorative signage for shops, offices, hotels, restaurants and cultural spaces.

Wood types and substrate behaviour

The colour, grain and porosity of each board influence the final result. We therefore select the substrate according to the required level of detail, the desired natural finish and the intended use of the piece.

Poplar plywood: This lightweight board retains a more natural appearance. The wood grain and colour can be incorporated into the design to create signs, displays and decorative elements with a warm aesthetic.

MDF: Its uniform surface allows text, illustrations and colours to be reproduced accurately. It is a good option for signage, decoration and graphic pieces that require a consistent finish.

Before production, we check the artwork, the direction of the grain and the contrast of the graphic. As wood is a natural material, slight variations in colour and texture may occur between boards.

Direct printing integrates the graphic into the board itself, without the need to print it on paper or vinyl first and apply it afterwards. This allows the wood grain to remain visible and reduces the use of additional materials.

We select the type of board, format and component layout according to the intended use, optimising material usage and reducing waste generated during production.

We work with inks certified by UL ECOLOGO and GREENGUARD Gold. GREENGUARD Gold certifies low chemical emissions and is particularly relevant for pieces intended for commercial interiors, hotels, restaurants, offices and educational spaces.

Frequently asked questions about printing on wood

Is printing on wood suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, provided that a suitable board is selected and the necessary protection is applied according to its exposure to sunlight, moisture and rain. However, printed wood is primarily intended for indoor use. For long-lasting outdoor signage, we recommend printing on Dibond and other rigid substrates.
