Brochures: a sustainable and eco-friendly promotional tool

eco-friendly brochures

Today, many marketing and communication departments use brochures as a promotional and advertising tool. We recommend producing them using eco-friendly and sustainable materials to present campaigns, promotions, products or services offered by your business.

In an environment of growing environmental awareness, using sustainable brochures allows your business to communicate its products and services while demonstrating environmental responsibility.

What is a brochure?

A brochure is a short printed document used for informational or promotional purposes. They are typically distributed by hand to provide information about events, restaurants, bars, tourist locations or similar. They can also be placed in commercial spaces so that visitors can take one.

In general, brochure content is not highly specialised. The goal is to ensure that a broad audience can quickly understand the message. Text should be concise and direct, highlighting key ideas and, where possible, supported by images.

Types of brochures

Brochures can take different formats depending on their purpose and the message they aim to communicate:

  • Leaflet or flyer: a short-format brochure (usually a single page) used to promote or inform about a specific product or service. It provides essential information for potential customers
  • Bi-fold brochure: a single sheet printed on both sides and folded in half. It is used to communicate more structured information about a product, service, company or event
  • Tri-fold brochure: a single sheet folded into three sections and printed on both sides. It presents more detailed information about products, services, companies or events
  • Multi-page brochure (booklet): a brochure with several pages, similar to a small magazine. It allows for more extensive information about products and services

Eco-friendly brochure printing

Printing eco-friendly brochures can add value to your brand and demonstrate your company’s environmental awareness.

Brochures can be produced using:

  • Recycled materials: substrates given a second life
  • Recyclable materials: substrates that can be reused after their primary use
  • Latex inks (water-based inks): environmentally friendly inks that do not produce strong odours or toxic residues when dried

In addition, digital printing allows you to produce only the quantity required, with no minimum print runs. This avoids excess stock of unused promotional materials. It also enables you to personalise each print run and adapt content to different locations or audiences, creating more targeted communication.
