Our planet needs action. We are in a critical situation from an environmental perspective, and everything has an impact. At Artyplan, we work to promote sustainable development. However, our commitment goes beyond offering fully eco-friendly materials. We want to explain the characteristics of our business and how we contribute to protecting the planet.
Eco-friendly materials: what they are and why we use them
The use of eco-friendly materials and the application of sustainable production processes are part of our DNA. We are fully aware that, through our actions, we help reduce environmental impact, limit harmful waste, and contribute to improving the overall condition of the planet.
We use eco-friendly elements, meaning materials that are environmentally aligned with nature and sustainability. In addition, the growing environmental awareness allows companies and individuals to project a responsible and positive image that is increasingly valued.
Materials and their applications
Using sustainable resources in print production helps protect the environment and is a clear indicator of corporate responsibility. Below are the main eco-friendly printing materials we use:
- Recycled material. Recycled material is ecological support that has already been used and reprocessed for reuse. It can be recycled again if disposed of correctly and processed through appropriate recycling systems.
- Biodegradable material and compostable material. These materials are completely PVC-free. They do not require human intervention to reintegrate into nature, decomposing naturally like leaves or wood fragments. In some cases, they can even be used as compost within a few weeks.
- Bamboo, cardboard, wood and glass. These materials are used to produce displays or packaging that were traditionally made from plastic. Their environmental footprint is significantly lower.
- Latex inks. Despite the name, these inks are primarily water-based solutions with humectants that keep pigments suspended (similar performance to solvent inks). They are environmentally responsible and safer for health. Once dry, they do not release toxic waste or harmful odours.
- Sustainable printing equipment. Choosing printing equipment compatible with these inks, and designed with an ecological approach, contributes significantly to environmental protection. Key benefits include the absence of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions and improved indoor air quality.
- Sustainable UVI technology. This process can be applied without generating polluting waste, provided it is used under controlled conditions and with proper procedures.
- Other alternatives. Any print solution that reduces environmental impact and promotes reuse is positive. For example, repositionable self-adhesive vinyl allows graphics to be reused and relocated, offering a versatile and sustainable option.
